Buck Showalter Named Marylander of the Year

The Baltimore Sun and Greater Baltimore Committee named Buck Showalter their Marylander of the Year for 2012. You might wonder if a guy who has only spent part of three yerars in the state can qualify for such an honor, but don’t wonder too long. Listen to Showalter talk about the Orioles for a few minutes, and you’ll realize: he gets it. He’s one of us.

After trying to deflect as much credit as possible while accepting the award, Showalter sat down for a Q&A session MC’d by the Sun’s Peter Schmuck. His sincere desire to bring a winner to Baltimore  was on full display, as was his characteristic dry wit.
