Leading Off
This show, and this season would be a lot better off if that New York series had not happened. The Orioles are doing their best impression of 2009. After winning a series in Tampa, the Birds now must prove they can turn their season around.
This Week on the Twitters
I would much, much rather the Orioles win, but some of the comments when they’re losing are priceless.

“Seller? I just met her!” -Dan Duquette. …no but seriously, we’re sellers now. @BirdsEyeViewBal

Many Happy Returns
Monday, July 27th represents Nick Markakis’ return to Oriole Park at Camden Yards – a place called home for nine years. Unfortunately, he’ll do it as a member of the Atlanta Braves. We have watched the return of beloved Orioles in the last few years. First, it was Brian Roberts (as a member of the New York Yankees), and more recently, Nelson Cruz as a member of the Seattle Mariners.
Looking at Markakis, we look (longingly?) back, and attempt to project the future.
Where Do We Go From Here?
The Orioles fan base seems divided on the subject of whether the Orioles should be buyers or sellers. It’s likely that there is some internal conflict within the Orioles organization as to whether the team should blow it up and look toward 2016 (and beyond), or take one last shot at a playoff berth, where – they have to hope – anything can happen.
With so much division in the ranks, the guys pull in some experts on pleasant disagreement: BSR Network sister-wives, Zach Wilt and Jabby Burns of the Baltimore Sports Today podcast.

Fantasy Boss
Fantasy Boss is our head-to-head fantasy segment where we pick a statistic each week, and each host picks a player for the remainder of that week. Scott is the reigning Fantasy Boss champion.
This week:
Both BEV hosts are getting hot again. In the category of WHIP, they picked guys who had a good week. Jake’s pick, Miguel Gonzalez (0.65) edged Scott’s pick, Chris Tillman (0.71). That brings Fantasy Boss to 7-6-1, in favor of Scott.
Next week’s category is RISP.
Jake’s Pick: Manny Machado
Scott’s Pick: Caleb Joseph
The gauntlet has been thrown. Who will own it?
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Who had a great week? Who had a tough week? Who made us ashamed to be Orioles fans? Find out in this week’s GB&U. The guys run through their Good, Bad, and Ugly for the week.

Blowing the Save
Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
