Leading Off
You’re still here? It’s over. Go home…
With the end of the 2019 season fully in the rear-view mirror, we look to put an exclamation point on what was a terrible season. But we can’t really do that, so we’ll settle for an ellipsis.
Join us for The Drink of the Week. Don’t forget to drink socially with us on Untappd.
This Week on the Twitters
Here is what is happening in the world of Orioles Baseball, in 280 characters, or fewer:
The @orioles are on the lookout for talented folks who want to shape an organization. Scouting, PD, front office … join the team! https://t.co/3c0X4vASbR

Brooks just called to tell me about the passing of Andy Etchebarren. Lots of great memories! Called my shutout in the 1966 World Series vs the Dodgers #RIP @masnOrioles

On our pregame show, just asked Buck Showalter about the seven managerial vacancies. He did the usual bob and weave that Iβve witnessed since the early 90s, but he did say itβs an honor to have his name mentioned. Trust me, Buck wants to manage again.

And, since we missed last week’s episode, here’s Last Week on the Twitters:
Brady Anderson won't be back with #orioles next season. Told he's stepping aside with all the new people in the organization and the changes. O's are altering performance/strength and conditioning structure. Will make new hires over the winter.

Stuff We Missed
Since last we left our heroes, a few things have happened:
- The season came to an end.
- The final game was something else.
- The Orioles made a roster move.
- The Orioles made some front office moves.
- The Orioles have made changes in their coaching staff.
What Did It All Mean?
OK, so we’ve worked for six months or so to find new ways to say “this team is terrible.” But looking back at this season, what did it all mean?
Gary Thorne lends a hand, with his brilliant summation of the season, and we ask ourselves: do the Orioles have enough to be interesting next year?
We debate whether the 2019 Orioles were more watchable than the 2018 version. We also wonder how a person can even go about evaluating Brandon Hyde. How can we tell if he is a suitable Major League manager, if he has only managed a minor league team?
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Who had a great week? Who had a tough week? Who made us ashamed to be Orioles fans? Find out in this week’s GB&U. The guys run through their Good, Bad, and Ugly for the week.

Blowing the Save
Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
