Leading Off
Hi. We hope this episode finds you well – in good health and good spirits.
We told ourselves we would put together a quick little episode this week, and wound up talking for over an hour. Baseball, even when the world is crazy, as a wonderful ability to bring people together.
Hurry back, baseball. We need you.

This Week on the Twitters
Here’s what’s going on in the world of Orioles Baseball, in 280 characters, or fewer:
One Moment In Time
For two Orioles fans of a certain age, Cal Ripken Jr. WAS Orioles baseball. He was never our “favorite player.” Scott fell hard for Ben McDonald. Jake looked up to fellow lefty Brady Anderson. But the heart and soul of the team – and the fandom of many – was Cal.
Desperate for content, both local and national outlets have recently played the 2130/2131 games, and we watched them. Oh, did we watch them.
It all looks different in the lens of history, but it is no less beautiful. Listen in as we discuss “the good old days” during these “bad old days.”
Bubble Baseball
Rumors have circulated about discussions between MLB and the MLBPA regarding a shortened season held entirely in Arizona. Lots of details leaked, and lots of questions still remain, regarding the viability of such a plan.
To be fair, MLB has made it clear that they are not advocating this plan… it’s just talk.
To be clear, we think such a plan – particularly one with a May timeline – is madness. But even the fact that we’re talking about it reminds us of what is good about baseball.
It is good, and we miss it. But we’ll wait for it. And in the meantime, we’ll talk about the “what ifs.”
Blowing the Save
Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
