Leading Off
Hi. We hope this episode finds you well – in good health and good spirits.
We’re back, and baseball is not. This is… fun.
Hurry back, baseball. We miss you.

This Week on the Twitters
Here’s what’s going on in the world of Orioles Baseball, in 280 characters, or fewer:
Baseball Things
Sure, there’s no baseball, but there are baseball things to discuss. OK, to be fair, they are baseball-ish things, in some cases. But we’ll take it.
The 2020 Season
Yep, we’re still nowhere. We have gone from 50 games to 80 games, to “tell us where and when,” to 60 games, then to 70 games, then back to 60 games, then back to nothing.
Fans are on the injured list with severe whiplash.
Baseball Flirts with Selling Out
Baseball is talking about selling ad space on jerseys in 2020 and 2021, but come on: once Pandora’s Box is open, it will never close.
We discuss possible advertising partners for the Orioles, and take it… mostly seriously.
MLB Draft
We’re not as warm on the Orioles’ 2020 draft as we were with the 2019 draft. The Orioles surprised by taking Heston Kjerstad.
We discuss the overall draft results, and Jake makes one too many “Aston-Martin” puns.
Orioles pay their Minor Leaguers
The Birds have committed to paying their minor league payers a weekly $400 stipend for the entirety of what would have been the minor league season (through the first week of September).
Another good move by the Orioles. We keep asking “are they doing enough?” Whereas this question may be tough to answer until the COVID-19 crisis is behind us, this is a no-brainer.
Good move, Orioles.
Conspiracy Theory Theatre
2020 has been stranger than fiction. But we have been conditioned to believe anything. Into this environment, we bring Conspiracy Theory Theatre.
Here we come up with the most bizarre stories we can think of, shoot them into the ether of the internet, and see if any of them stick.
It’s fun. Grab your tin foil and play along at home. Send us your best conspiracy theories @birdseyeviewbal.
Blowing the Save
Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
