Ohmygoshitsreallyherewedonothavetowaitforbaseballanymore. I mean, yay for Opening Day!
After a stellar opening series in Boston, and an evening in the Bronx of which we will never speak again, there’s a lot to be excited about for Orioles’ fans.

This Week on the Twitters
Here’s what’s going on in the world of Orioles Baseball, in 280 characters, or fewer:
Around the Bases
First Base: Real or Mirage?
With just three games with which to judge the 2021 season, we look at a few specific points to see if what we observed is real – and will have staying power throughout the season – or whether it will be a mirage, and slip into the Hays (er, haze).
We look at the Pitching, the Defense, the Offense, and the 3-0 start itself.
Second Base: Trades in the Outfield
Teams are checking in on Anthony Santander. So that’s… good? Bad? Other? We discuss not so much whether the Orioles should trade Santander, but rather, what a Santander trade would say about the Orioles.
For instance, is it harder/easier for the organization to trade him because he’s a Rule 5 guy, rather than a player the team drafted and developed? Should that make it easier for the fans to stomach?
Also, how would that impact foreign relations with the UK?
Third Base: I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke… Just Don’t Serve it to Someone in Line to Vote
I bet you’re thinking that if we talk about MLB pulling the All Star Game from Atlanta that we should “emancipate [ourselves] from our naivete, right?” Well, we actually manage to keep the soapbox at home for this one.
But we do have a reality check for anyone hoping the game will come to Baltimore…
Home Plate: The Home Opener
With the jewel of Major League Baseball that is Camden Yards sitting idle, it’s weird to see the team start the season on the road. That being said, starting the season away allows the home crowd to celebrate Opening Day twice.
This year will be weird, for both the fans in the stands, and those out and about on such a high, holy day.
However you celebrate it, enjoy Opening Day on Thursday.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Who had a great week? Who had a tough week? Who made us ashamed to be Orioles fans? Find out in this week’s GB&U. The guys run through their Good, Bad, and Ugly for the week.

Blowing the Save
Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
