Rumor Has It
The guys are joined by former BSRN sisterwife Sam Dingman and Mac Montandon, the hosts of the new podcast The Rumor. The rumor in question, of course, is the urban legend that Cal Ripken’s streak was threatened by an alleged affair between his wife and star of Waterworld, Kevin Costner.
Rush out to wherever it is you get your podcasts, and subscribe to The Rumor. Then take to social media to rave about it. You can find the guys on Twitter @samdingman and @maccabeem.
Also, be sure to look for the writeup of their show IN THE GOSH DARN WASHINGTON POST.
Thinking Ahead
It’s only been three weeks (ish) since the Orioles season ended, but we don’t want to think about it, yet. We also don’t want to think about what comes next. But when we do, we think we might think about things like:
- The World Series (and which team we less mind rooting for)
- The CBA, work stoppages, and streaming
- Reconstructing the Orioles roster (and why we should sign Nelson Cruz to pitch)
- What concessions the Orioles might make on concessions
Fantasy Boss
Jake won the final Fantasy Boss of the season, but it was closer than it had any right to be, and resulted in the closest contest in FB history. After Scott “made things interesting” with an all-or-nothing two point contest, he nearly pulled off a miracle. All it would have taken was for Jahmai Jones to play a bit more like Tyler Nevin.
That’s a real sentence about baseball, based in reality on this planet.
With Fantasy Boss complete for 2021, we look ahead to 2022, and wonder…
Who will own it?
Blowing the Save
Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
