Leading Off
We’re pretty sure that baseball happened this week, but to be honest, it’s hard to focus on anything besides the impending Paul McCartney concert at OPACY. Yes, the Orioles are having THAT good a season…

This Week on the Twitters
Around the Bases
We go Around the Bases to review this week in Orioles Baseball:
First Base: Grayson Rodriguez Injury
So the news on Grayson Rodriquez is not as harmless as we had hoped in our last podcast. With the Orioles soon-to-be-rookie out for at least three months, we consider whether it is prudent to see him in Baltimore in 2022, and what the injury might mean for the team’s hopes in 2023.
Second Base: 2022 All Star Game
Voting for the 2022 MLB All Star Game began yesterday (08 JUN 2022), which leads us to wonder: who will the Orioles’ pity pick be this year?
Last year, the ASG story was Trey Mancini. What is the Orioles’ angle this year?
Third Base: MASN Alternate Programming
It was a rule: when it rained, we saw Cal. Now when it rains, we see Jim Thome… playing for Cleveland. We discuss what the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network should do with its airwaves when the rain falls in Baltimore. Obviously, we think we can do it better. And even more obviously, they won’t listen.
Home Plate: That’s SIR Paul, to you
Paul McCartney plays at Camden Yards this weekend, and Jake is becoming… very excited. As such, we discuss the Got Back Tour set list.
Yes, the Orioles are that interesting these days.
Baltimore Legal
In a story broken by the Baltimore Banner, it appears that Lou Angelos is suing his brother John for control of the team, and the lawsuit has all sorts of Orioles fans’ nightmare scenario: JOHN WANTS TO SELL THE TEAM, AND IF HE DOENS’T, HE’LL MOVE IT TO NASHVILLE, BECAUSE HE LIKES THAT PLACE SO MUCH HE SHOULD JUST MARRY IT.
This is all not a good look, but it’s also not reason for panic.
At least we know if the team can’t compete on the field, its owners can compete in the courtroom.
Fantasy Boss
Scott jumps out to a 2-1 lead, having correctly predicted that Keegan Aiken would pitch more innings than Joey Krehbiel.
This week, the guys are watching Barrell%.
Jake took Ryan Mountcastle, and Scott went with Trey Mancini.
Who will own it?
Blowing the Save
Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
