Sometimes, Bird’s Eye View turns into “Point, More Point” as Jake and Scott fall over themselves agreeing on an Orioles-related topic. Or, one of them will defend a ridiculous position, for the purpose of furthering discussion. With the fight that followed Manny Machado being plunked by Yordano Ventura, the guys talk through a genuine difference of opinion over how it went down.
Manny Machado didn’t like being drilled by a 99mph pitch, and judging by the reaction of his teammates (during the fracas, afterward on the field, and in post-game comments), neither did they.
Where do you stand on The Shot Heard Around Birdland? Was this another example of Machado acting like a primadonna, or was this an instance of a guy defending himself, the way baseball should be played? Tweet us @birdseyeviewbal, and be sure to listen to Episode 167, where we talked about Manny’s overall behavior – before it became super relevant!
